Enquire About an Assessment
We welcome enquiries from individuals, families, and referring practitioners. Please read the information below before reaching out so we can respond as helpfully as possible.
Before You Enquire
STEM Brain Centre provides osteopathic assessment and care for neurological and functional presentations. We are not an emergency or acute care service. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please contact emergency services or present to your nearest hospital. For urgent clinical concerns, please speak with your GP or treating specialist.
How the Enquiry Process Works
We aim to make the process straightforward. Here is what to expect from initial contact through to assessment.
Send Your Enquiry
Email us with a brief outline of the situation. Include relevant background, the nature of the presentation, and what you are hoping to understand or address. We will review all enquiries within a few business days.
Initial Review
We will review the information provided and respond to confirm whether an assessment is appropriate, or to ask any clarifying questions. This helps ensure we can offer something genuinely useful before any appointment is scheduled.
Assessment Appointment
Once confirmed, we will arrange a time for an initial assessment. This is a detailed, structured appointment that reviews presenting symptoms, history, and relevant functional patterns in the context of a systems-based clinical framework.
What to Include in Your Enquiry
The more context you can provide, the better placed we are to respond meaningfully. You do not need a referral to enquire, but a summary of the situation is helpful.
- A brief description of the current presentation and how long it has been present
- Any relevant diagnoses, investigations, or reports (summaries are fine)
- Other healthcare providers currently involved in care, if any
- What you are hoping to understand, clarify, or address through assessment
- Whether the enquiry is for yourself, a family member, or a patient you are referring
Who Can Enquire
Enquiries are welcome from individuals, families, and healthcare practitioners.
Individuals & Families
You may enquire directly on your own behalf or for a family member, including children where parental or guardian consent applies.
Referring Practitioners
GPs, specialists, allied health professionals, and other osteopaths are welcome to refer. A brief clinical summary and contact details are sufficient to begin the process.
What to Expect at Assessment
An initial assessment at STEM Brain Centre is thorough and unhurried. The aim is to build a complete picture of the presentation, not simply to confirm or rule out a single diagnosis.
Detailed History Taking
We will spend time reviewing the chronology of symptoms, relevant personal and family history, prior investigations, and how different systems have been affected over time. This context is central to understanding complex presentations.
Functional & Neurological Assessment
Clinical assessment examines how different functional and neurological systems are presenting, including motor patterns, sensory processing, autonomic regulation, and coordination — within the scope of osteopathic practice.
Systems-Based Interpretation
Findings are interpreted through a systems-based framework that considers how neurological, musculoskeletal, and autonomic systems interact — particularly where presentations are multi-system, overlapping, or difficult to explain in isolation.
Care Pathway Discussion
At the conclusion of the assessment, we will discuss findings and outline what ongoing care, further investigation, or collaboration with other practitioners may be appropriate. We work alongside existing healthcare teams where relevant.
